Thor was evacuated from Kherson at the end of 2022. We know little about his past life, but without a doubt we can say that Thor is a real fighter, and this allowed him to survive on the streets during the occupation and after it. Thor arrived at the Hatul Madan shelter exhausted and very hungry, but not broken. Now he is a huge gorgeous cat, but still loves to eat. His diet needs to be carefully monitored and Thor needs to be given gastro food, because the white giant has pancreatitis. Thor also has very sensitive paws, prone to allergies, so wood filler in the toilet is not suitable for him.
This cat hates tight confined spaces and is very nervous in the carrier, and veterinary procedures turn into a real epic battle worthy of the pen of playwrights. The rest of the time, Thor is a huge, affectionate bun; he can happily settle in a person’s arms if he is sure that the human came without a pill. In rare cases, he even goes for a hug.
Unfortunately, Thor came to the Hatul Madan shelter with leukemia and viral immunodeficiency of cats. Despite two terrible diagnoses, Thor feels well, looks great and can become an excellent pet. The main thing is that he must be the only cat in the house, since both diseases are transmitted to other cats.
Feline viral immunodeficiency and leukemia are absolutely not dangerous for people and all animals except other cats. These diseases are not a death sentence; a cat can live a long, rich life with proper care and attention. You can read more about this here: https://hatul-madan.org/blogs/FIV
