Most evacuated animals arrive at our shelter already sick — the result of cold, hunger, and life on the streets. Every newcomer is first tested for the main viral diseases, because without testing they could infect other shelter residents — the weak, the elderly, or the very young. These tests protect against parvovirus, panleukopenia, feline leukemia virus, and other dangerous illnesses. It's not cheap, but it's essential. By helping us purchase tests, you protect everyone — the newcomers and those who already call the shelter home.

Shelter Renovation
Our shelter is housed in a building that is over a hundred years old. It has seen a great deal over that time, and today it needs attention: floors are deteriorating, walls and utilities require repair.
