For an animal shelter, winter is about much more than cold weather.
It means the risk of power and heating outages. Delivery disruptions. Freezing temperatures. Rising costs. And the possibility that food, litter or essential medicines may simply become unavailable exactly when we need them most.
We care for many animals, including kittens, seniors, animals recovering from surgery and those living with chronic illnesses. We cannot afford to wait for a crisis and only then start figuring out what to do.
That is why we are already building our winter reserve in October.
We need to stock food, litter, medicines, disinfectants and hygiene supplies, drinking water, absorbent pads and other essentials that keep the shelter running. We also need warm beds, blankets, insulation and everything that can help us maintain warmth and light during possible outages.
We do not know what this winter will bring.
That uncertainty is what scares us most.
But one thing we do know: when dozens of lives depend on you, hoping that everything will somehow be fine is not a plan.
We want to be prepared.
Please help Hatul Madan build a reserve that will allow our shelter to make it through the winter and continue saving animals despite the cold, blackouts and whatever circumstances may come.
This time, we are not simply collecting supplies. We are building our winter safety net.
