We Are on the Edge
This is not drama for the sake of attention. These are simply the facts.
We have a building. We have electricity. We have food — enough for a week. We have litter and basic medications.
But in one week, rent is due. The food will run out. In two weeks — utilities, litter, medications. And the debts to the veterinary clinics that haven't gone anywhere.
Our staff haven't received their salaries in a month. They stay with us for the cats and dogs — and we know that is real love, not just words. But no one can live on love alone. We cannot ask people to work for free indefinitely.
Every morning we wake up and cannot answer each other's question: what do we do next?
Why We're Saying This Out Loud
Because staying silent means pretending everything is under control. And it isn't.
We are a small shelter in Kyiv. We help animals affected by the war. We give everything we have — and still don't know how we'll make it through next month.
We are not ashamed to admit this. We would be ashamed to hide it — and one day simply close our doors.
What You Can Do
If you are able to help — please, reach out a paw to us. Any amount matters right now.
If you have ideas for how a shelter like ours can find more stable funding — write to us. If you represent a business and would like to partner with a charity — we would love to connect.
